Is it just me or things have been really dull lately? Nothing really interesting going on with life lately (unlike last year where I frequently hung out with Lance and his friends. I miss those days), and nothing very interesting on the computer/internet either. I'd love to work on some CHASE stuff but its school that's keeping me away <strike>and my rather poor time management/procrastination</strike>.

So last week, imeem did perhaps the most butthole move ever by selling itself to myspace. No announcement or anything. This meant that my account is lost, all the music I favourited is gone (especially the sentimental ones), all the playlists I made are gone, thus further increasing the boredom. I'm starting to really miss listening to B'z's "Ichibu to Zenbu". I know there's always YouTube, but I don't like waiting for the red bar at the bottom of the video to load up (with my internet connection, it takes a short while. Better than when I had dial-up, at least). With imeem, the song would just load up its bar and finish as it plays, therefore I wouldn't have to pause the song when it suddenly stops.

I plan on ordering Versaiiles's new album, JUBILEE, and by ordering, I mean, have Lance order the album for me and I pay him back. I checked over at CDJapan for its price and shipping charges... it's going to cost me about $40. However, I'm going to ask some family members to lend some money, therefore I don't necessarily have to worry about losing my savings.

Regarding the album, though, it sounds great. Better than NOBLE. One track that really got me interested was "The Umbrella of Glass" for its... melody? Don't exactly know how to describe it. The PV for "Serenade" has been released, but I refuse to listen to anything from this album (except for "ASCENDEAD MASTER", the original version of "PRINCESS", and perhaps the previews on the site).

So tomorrow I have a Socials Test, English Essay, Physics Quiz, and a Math Test. Argh. It's no worse than the end of term where I had a Socials Test, Short English Test (on Harry Potter 4), Physics Test, Math Test, and an Animation Project to worry about.

Completely looking forward to the end of school.

I haven't watched 2012 yet, but Ken might have potentially ruined the movie for me. I gave a lot of thought on what he told me which made the disappointment a lot less. So here's what I came up with...

Ken, who read the summary of 2012 and not watch the film, said that China... [didsomething] to save the world, and something about passing to America or whatever. (It's a good thing that I can't exactly remember what he said now. He also said something about it being shown in the trailers, but I ignored him to avoid any more disappointments)

If China "saved the world"... well how can the world be saved when it's already in ruins? Pretty much 3/4 population of the Earth has died already.

But then, I remember in the first full trailer that in the story, there are ships made for those who survived to survive the complete end, and in the Survival 2012 game, you have to get to Tibet, which is in China.

So from what I can gather, China "saves" the world by having its government build ships in order to save the remaining survivors. The knowledge of these ships gets passed on to America and everywhere else in the world.

So in conclusion:
-China may have "saved the world", but did it stop its fateful destruction? In other words, did the Earth survive?
-Did the main characters (and many others) survive?
-DO NOT RUIN THE MOVIE FOR ME.

EDIT: Thank you, Piolo, for ruining 3% of the ending. ARGH! Now, the question is: Which?

So I've been reading some blogs of <strike>girls</strike> acquaintances, and it really made me want to post something (I guess) insightful or interesting, or what a personal blog's purpose is suppose to be: To share your personal life. I guess that makes me more feminine that way, but hey, Hidayat posts (or used to post) about his personal life pretty often so it's fair.

*If you're someone who doesn't know me personally and visits this site AND my public blog often but know me for what I do online, or just CHASE, you might be in for something!

So the term has ended. I'm pretty glad on that. I've been REALLY meaning to work on chaseofficial , but there's school happening to the point it became very stressful, and lack of motivation. But here's my goal: I must complete this thing before 2009 is over. Why?

If you've been reading my Chronicles since it's beginning, you should have seen its connection to CHASE, and it's the 5th Anniversary of when things started. That's the main reason I want to get CHASE completed before this year ends: 5th Anniversary of being at LLHome and meeting the <strike>cast/characters</strike> people. Deanna has been pretty supportive of this ever since I've told her about it so I'm really thankful for that. Speaking of Chronicles, I WILL be continuing the chapters soon!

So yeah. CHASE. I'll have to post an apology/announcement to go along with a BIG update.

Ah... what else to talk about...? I'll be watching 2012 with friends from Summer School pretty soon. I've been REALLY wanting to see this since... I'm fascinated by this End-of-the-World concept. I mean, come on! Who doesn't want to see the end of the world and have the thrill of it?

D'espairsRay will be releasing a Best-Of compilation album next month. I'm really interested in seeing what their music was like when they first began in 1999, and how it changed throughout the years to today.

Anyway, it will probably be a while before I post another entry like this. Later.

I believe it was on Thursday night, <strike>some guy</strike> some telemarketer or whatever called my phone and spoke to my mother. According to her, the man sounded like he was out of breath ([in Cantonese] "BusiNEEEss" or "compaNNYYY"). The same number then kept on calling over and over again but not saying anything. Thinking that the caller is a scammer, I decided to fool around with the caller by speaking aggressive gibberish then hanging up, and at one point I spoke in high-pitch (which the caller didn't respond to).

A different number called, so I gave the phone to my mom since it might be a friend of hers. It was a woman speaking, but of the same business/company/whatever. Compared to the man who called, this person was easier to communicate to.

Late afternoon today, this familiar-looking number called me. The man (who apparently doesn't speak English) talking sounded like he was tired and was semi-mumbling. I think he wanted to speak to someone who is 18 and is available at the moment. My mom has work and won't return until Thursday so I told him she won't be back until then. His response to that sounded as if he was really disappointed. I also told him I'll notify my mom, to which he (reluctantly?) agreed. Goodbye; hang up.

Wait. Was this the same guy who called a few nights ago? The caller sounded like he was tired... just like the <strike>"busiNEEEss"</strike> guy. Okay, it's him. Again.

Two hours later the same guy called back. I thought I implied to him my mom's not available! I didn't bother to say anything and just hung up. He called back again, but this time I just let my voice-answering machine do the work, and nothing was said.

Things are going to get interesting if/when he calls back again.

778-371-0950. Anyone want to prank call him?

EDIT: He just called for the 4th time at 8:34PM. I think I'm going to eventually <strike>yell</strike> scold at him.
Without Peter Leung and/or Fong playing major parts of the staff, Summer Day Camps feel rather corrupted.

Two of the secretaries don't seem to know the concept of becoming FRIENDS with children, and seem to treat them as simple Day Camp goers. You know when you're friends with people obviously you'd want to have a good time with them, but when you're forbidden because of some stupid/questionable/nonsensical/illogical reason(s) it gets really disappointing.

If they kick me out of volunteering because of some ridiculously-small reason (like I get along with them too well), then I'm really going to throw them my thoughts.
<lj:music>Ivory and Irony - DELUHI</lj:music>

I haven't written anything involving personal life in a while... isn't that the whole point of LiveJournal (and blogging)?

Summer School has been fun so far. I was hoping I didn't get teachers that would make me dread summer school, therefore wanting it to end quicker (which happens), therefore summer ending faster, therefore Summer Day Camp 2009 would end faster than it should. Outcome: Nope. Both teachers are incredibly nice and I don't have to feel any dread in going there. I really wonder how my English teacher knew that I'm an artist. Gut feeling, probably.

(I wrote the above in fear of jinxing myself, as paranoid as I seem)

Speaking of Day Camp, it has been a week since it begun (already?!). I won't go into much detail (save that for later... when the arc arrives), but quick main thoughts:
-Catherine didn't return. That was such a huge disappointment.
-There seems to be a "succession" thing going on where I seem to get along with a particular boy in the class and the relation feels more significant than everyone else (2007: Jason --> 2008: Kevin Ren --> 2009: Kenny), and where I seem to get a "sister" (2007: Kelly Tam --> 2008: Catherine Hui --> 2009: Rachel Ma). Now I've known Rachel for 2 years now, and I don't really want to "ditch" Catherine, so seems like I shouldn't have a huge attachment to her (even though she wished I was her brother; absurdly cute :)).
-I honestly think Light & Love Home will no longer have a Summer Day Camp since... well Gr. 6 & 7-8 are as one class since 2007, and now Gr. 3 & 4 became one. Somebody abolish Elementary Summer School. Please.

Plan for tonight is to watch TV and eat dinner, finish reading up Lord of the Flies, and copy/type Background outline for presentation to everyone.

I'm going to have to further delay Chronicles since I don't see myself finishing chaseofficial anytime soon this month, and I'm thinking a release date of next month.

And DELUHI is whooz.

From becoming best friends in childhood
to growing up into adulthood together
to becoming Ultramen together.
It's a touching thing.

============================

Over time, Christopher had the nickname of Christopher Columbus, and Peter's alternate hairstyle died (rather quickly).

And Beth returned, but seemingly <strike>really strict</strike> more serious this year. I guess it was for us to be disciplined.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One thing I forgot to mention last chapter was that Eric, Bill, and I were sent to the table with ThomasWong, Daniel, and Chris since... the table we were sitting at was very crowded and some of us had to be moved. Some time later, Eric (and Bill, and Daniel) dubbed us as the "6 Smart Kids".

I don't even remember the team names the entire class had.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our Math teacher was a woman named Cherry Tan. All Math classes were so typical and alike that it's hard to differentiate them. The only best moment I can think of was when Cherry thought that we attended Day Camp for free since volunteers come for free, which wasn't even true at all since we pay like $300 or $350 ($290 in my case since I had an Explorer Club membership card).

*If volunteering required paying fees, I might not have volunteered for the last 2 years, or volunteer for this upcoming year.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our English teacher -introduced by Beth- was a man in SFU named Thomas Chuah, who is another active churchgoer, and whom I developed a pretty good friendship with (I still see him when going to Boys & Girls Club, which is close by church).

The best highlight of English I remember was when they were reading something, they kept on saying "fact", which to my ears sounded like they were saying "fat". I (and others I told the fact/fat about) had a somewhat hard time trying not to laugh, and Beth got pretty suspicious as to why were we laughing when we shouldn't, while I was sitting there amused and in fear of being scolded at.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our Science teacher was a man named Henry Wu from Hong Kong (thus his English was not too fluent). I think he first appeared weeks and weeks later in Day Camp near the end because that's when I became friends with him. I got his hotmail and talked to him decently online, learning about his age (and showing me his misconception of how-old-are-you-right-now and how-old-are-you-this-year, which I couldn't correct him on; e.g. How old are you right now? 21. When's your birthday? [insert date here that's later than August]. So you're 20 right now? No, Age 21. But your birthday is later than August? Yes. So you are 20? No, it's Age 21. So you're 22 this year? Age 21!).

*Eh, his age was somewhere around there during that time.

Science-wise, we were conducting an experiment using matches, a jar, and wax inside (or whatever it was), and I felt the burn of flames a couple of times. One attempt of holding the match was when the flame started to burn me so I dropped the match into the jar with wax inside, and the flame spread through the entire matchstick itself until it died when reaching the wax (in seconds), leaving the matchstick completely black. That really reminded me of when Anakin/Vader got burned in Episode III, so I wanted to see more wooden matchsticks burn all the way through like that. Uh, I don't think that's morbid since it's wood that was getting burned and not a living object, which would really disturb me.

Other than that, I don't remember who our first Science teacher was.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think Beth was our Art teacher... and I honestly don't remember what we made. The only thing I remember making was this... folding-paper-popup thing where like one folds a paper in half, and when opening it there are things popping up (like a two-page spread of a pop-up book). I think I tried making Godzilla or something, but ultimately I didn't even finish; failed.

*Hehe. Godzilla. This movie was awesome.

There was that other time we, in our own groups, were to make houses using old newspapers and shopping flyers. The other two groups' houses were rather decent compared to ours, which was a failure. Daniel tried justifying that our house was good through saying it was Transformers ("♫ Transformers! Robots in Disguise! ♫") while shaking it at the same time, resulting the house falling apart more than it already was.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

While this was not a class, the famous Chinese Pool returned. Yushu had a unique styling of shooting pucks where he sits on a chair to shoot rather than normal standing.

ThomasLeung (Spyroman) had irony upon him where when playing against Bill (who's better than me), he wins, while when playing against me, he loses.

to be continued

(No ending message for this chapter for the first time, maybe because I forgot what I was going to write)
<lj:music>Shinkirou - Matenrou Opera (stuck in my head)</lj:music>

Hehe. "The First".

============================

Compared to last year, there weren't as much people attending this year's Day Camp. The Grade 6 class was in Room E, and Grade 7-8 class was in Room G2, almost a complete contrast (2004: Grade 6 - Room F2, Grade 7-8 - Room E).

The first day was pretty... <strike>awkward</strike> quiet. All of us just sat there as soon as each of us came in. Most of us sat (or crowded) at one table since we were very familiar to each other and not others <strike>nor girls</strike>, who were sitting at different tables, except for this one guy I've never seen in my life sitting with us: Yushu Lin.

*Yushu has no relations to Benny, btw.

One addition to the list of who returned was Gerisen Tang, here to prepare for Grade 8 (along with Bill).

So sitting on the other table across from us were Thomas Wong (who I thought beared a<strike>n extremely</strike> vague resemblance to elementary friend Sam Hua; they even had an exact same t-shirt!), Daniel Mah, and Christopher Dong of the Grade 8 portion (currently attending DT). On the girls side were Amy, Shirley, Colleen Chong, and this other female.

QUICKPAUSE
One thing I failed to mention was that Colleen attended the tutor program during the school year (since second term?), so therefore I knew her before Day Camp started.

And this is the same Colleen Chong who currently attends DT.
QUICKPAUSE

So everyone was quiet... yep.

Peter Leung (with a different hairstyle) was our class teacher. He just sat at the front and called up each student to confirm their information that was there on one of the list-of-students sheet.

So he introduced himself, saying he's the class teacher. Oh, we're going out somewhere... on the first day.

We went to this wide park area through riding the bus with many other people and sat on the grass to eat lunch. Very distinctly I remember Benny (or was it someone else?) eating Pizza Pops. (I haven't had those in a long while; now I want one) There was someone taking pictures so when we were to be shot, I gave a smile.

*One thing that's very bad about us riding on transit buses on weekdays is that it would get overly crowded. Not only that, I would get the feeling that we're indirectly bothering people sitting around or with us.

We played a game... and I don't exactly remember how it goes. Something involving hosts? Eegh. In twist of irony, Samuel and I talked about Star Wars Episode III. Peter wanted to know what we were talking about, but I answered him that it's something he doesn't like or watch or whatever. On the way back, there was a female volunteer <strike>clearly from Hong Kong</strike> who noticed me and tried finding out my name (looking at the back of my bus pass dangling from my name) before asking me out loud.

So the day was over. Bill, Thomas, Benny, Eric, Gerisen, Yushu and Kevin were to go to Extended Hours care while I, alone, go home (or my grandparents).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So people from other grades who came:
-Samuel Fong (as mentioned above) & Esdras Chan... although Samuel wasn't in our class so I don't know what he did. Probably the same with Esdras as well.
-Jimmy Liang (of Chinadia fame) came for preparation of Grade 5.
-Scott Yuen of Grade 6. When I first saw this guy, I honestly (don't kill me if you ever read this Scott) thought he was one of those delinquent or bratty-type kids, like King-Hei. He was also part of Extended Hours, hence why Benny and them were so familiar with him.
-King-Hei for preparation of Grade 5. Luckily I didn't see him much, or barely at all.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For fellowship, all of us of the "main group" -and certain others- but Thomas Leung (don't know why) were to go to Room E for fellowship. We went inside and stood at the end of the room while the Grade 6 class was still been talked to by a teacher.

"Why are they staring at us?" I asked Eric.

It felt really awkward to just stand there and have several eyes gaze at us like we were foreigners or something.

Some time later, there was one fellowship where an audio slideshow about the Crucification of Jesus Christ was being screened (using a very old slideshow machine that makes a loud click sound when a new slide is shown). Fong thought the visuals were going to be very frightening for me (because I had a... yeah. Too personal to explain.), so I was to join Thomas and the fellowship in Room G2, where Peter Wong, an extremely funny man who was talking about the difference between God and man-made Gods. He even used Kermit the Frog (or a frog-like stuffed animal) as an example to pretend it as a God. From the laughters we gave, Thomas and I and everyone else had a good time.

*I think I knew who Peter Wong was in 2004 but 2005 was when I was really familiar of him. Eegh; too long ago.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One hilarious but very short story to end of the chapter:

Weeks later into Day Camp, I've been hearing about Scott "raping" Yushu during Extended Hours. In Room D, where Extended Hours after class take place, there is this small cubbie area/semi-room where random storage are placed inside. To not get children go in there, they use a wall-like border thing to block it (which doesn't work well since one can just push the border aside and step into the crowded storage space, but no kid would go in there so it's fine).

So the story was, Scott dragged Yushu into the storage space... and [BEEP BEEP BEEP] (or "AFed" as they had called it). From what I remember, I think Yushu was said to have made small shrieking sounds, and Scott "raped" him in there several times. How I wish I could have seen that as it would have gave such a good laugh. It certainly did when hearing about it.

to be continued

(Summer Day Camp 2005, the most school-like out of all day camps I've been part of)
Sunday, June 5th, 2005 was my 12th birthday, so of course I told everybody. Typically, I received birthday beats (not severe beats, fortunately). It was during fellowship where Hong was talking about my birthday to the class, but not saying my name out loud. Despite that, everyone knew it was me because I was... using a chair... to hide myself. Yes, yes, everyone sang to me.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The School Year ended, the tutor program ended, and there was the upcoming Summer Day Camp 2005. Both in-person and online was where I learned of those who were coming. I even made a now-deleted blog post on my old MSN Space (which I won't link to :P) with a list of names confirming of who will be returning to church:

-Kevin Wong (me)
-Kevin Yee
-Benny Lin
-Thomas Leung
-Eric Chung
-Bill Cho

"See you in Summer Day Camp 2005!" or something like that at the end of the entry.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So reviewing certain people:

DERRICK SHUM
It was unfortunate that Derrick couldn't come. I was told that he went to some other learning place, and that was it.

DEREK LU
Not returning. I talked to him on MSN once and he didn't like us anymore because we were... "weird", which I couldn't understand the meaning of. Oh, and months earlier Derrick told me he saw him: He was very short. Does he even remember me anymore?

KENNY HUANG
Eh, not returning.

KEVIN CHEN
Not returning. There were occasions where his cousin logged into his MSN and called me obnoxious <strike>swearwords</strike> names and acted very negatively when I was talking to who-I-thought-was-Chen.

PAULA WONG
Couldn't return due to work commitments, even though she would have loved to.

SAM
Said to be in China, according to Kevin Yee and the few times I've asked him.

COLIN ZHANG, KEVIN YU
Well they're going to be in Grade 9, and day camps only cover up to Grade 8. Speaking of Colin, I never heard from him ever again.

EVERYONE ELSE
Either not returning or I didn't know that they're coming because either I didn't talk to them or I didn't have personal online contact with them. Some people just seem to have disappeared completely and never heard from again (e.g. Fenco Law), and I hope they're not dead or anything.

to be continued

(Shortest Chapter Ever. But it's a prologue, so it makes sense)
