( Quick Life Update )
Some kid on the bus was overly-upset on whatever he was playing on his DS to the point of crying. ("EEEEGH!! EEEGH! *huff* *huff*")
(Twitter Update on Sun, Apr. 19 at 3:40PM)

The Full Story:

I got on the #19 bus to go home, and I noticed these two Chinese boys sitting behind the bus driver. One of them (holding a DS) yelled something. I just walked to the back area, ignoring them.

So the kid with the DS was getting frustrated over whatever he was playing on his blue DS (with amused people around him noticing/watching). I was going to listen to my iPod Nano but I wanted to see what was going to happen. The more normal boy then went to a different seat with an elderly man commenting on how the DS boy scared him with a laugh.

Throughout the entire quiet bus ride, the DS boy kept on going "eeegh! Eeeeeeeegh!!" I even spoke to a non-Asian woman -who also noticed the kid- across from me on how he's too into his game. What was even more amusing was that a Caucasian man sitting two seats away had to turn his back to him to not bother watching.

"Eeeegh!! EEEeggh!! *huff**huff* (a few seconds later) Eeeeeegh!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEGH!!!!!"

As I was about to get off, I noticed a stream of tear on his face (which I noted to the woman).

Eh a week later there was this Asian female druggie getting off the bus with a negative attitude then went smoking. This guy called her crazy after she had gotten off.

Random Fact Before Main Chapter: I didn't like how Kevin Yee was half-stealing my nickname-of-the-time, Kiwi, which originated from school. I did allow him to use it but I didn't like how he was being called that so much like it was his nickname in the first place (jealousy getting the better of me).

Explorer Club was basically a membership program that occured every Sunday (with an additional fee), where after all the morning tutor/fellowship stuff, you stay at church and have lunch until around 1PM or so. After that you get to go somewhere for fun (just like a field trip) or participate in an activity held by church. Samuel & Esdras were among the ones in this program (as well as Gloria and Alex), with Peter, Fong, and other staff members.

So my first day with this program:

We had lunch where it would always be rice of some kind with added meat and vegetables (it changes every week). Later each one of us received a paper with a list of activities where we choose what we liked the best. Among them were choices like Laser Tag, Hiking, Bowling, and-others-I-don't-remember. I honestly thought by choosing the most picked activity, we would go to that one, and most people and I liked Laser Tag the best. Turns out it was just a poll, and we were going hiking instead. We were organized in groups with each of the staff members as leaders.

So we were driven in separate vehicles to UBC, where they were having this apple festival. It was very rainy and drenched, so obviously the grass became muddy as we had to step on them with umbrellas covering us. We walked through this growing-fields area (growing apple trees?) where there was a scarecrow posted there. The name wasn't kidding! That scarecrow did look creepy (even though it was only the figure's back)!  We reached this area with small tents for stands where people were selling things that are apple-related like caramel apples.

We boarded one of those old-fashioned, trailer-looking buses. It was Halloween season so inside the bus was filled with fake, severed body parts lying around which was disturbing to look at. There was even a human head hanging from the ceiling! (which I didn't look into at all) Luckily I wasn't one of those unfortunate ones who had to sit at the middle/back, which meant being near the human head and seeing it (in)directly.

So the day was over and we were driven back to church. On the way I was getting along with a 5th Grader named Jeffrey Li (I think he doesn't remember me now), where we talked about odd people from our schools like this guy who runs like a sissy, one other guy (or the same person) making a weird face when taking the school photo, and this guy I mentioned back in Chapter 6 who is was completely feminine ("You're breathing my air!" "Ow! You broke my nail!"). We then waited for our parents to pick us up.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There was that one time where an activity of Explorer Club took place at church itself.

We played this game where people are separated in groups. The game is where the... host or whatever tells each person from each group (different people in each turn) of what they want. For example, if the host asks for "shoes" then each person would run back to their respective group and tells them what they have to show to the host. Each (or most) of the group members would lend their pairs of shoes with the rush/desire of scoring points.

There was this kid two years younger than I am: King-Hei, some... nerdy-looking kid with glasses whose parents are part of the church staff. The way he talks is like as if there's a lot of saliva in his mouth. But I didn't really care about that... at first. He actually liked Ultraman, which I was pretty happy about because barely to nobody likes Ultraman or Tokusatsu here in Vancouver, which is sad, and that there's someone for me to talk about something I like very much (or so it seemed). Of course, him being the ignorant child, he thinks the blue light on Ultramen's chest is not called a "Color Timer" when it actually is. ("It's not called 'Color Timer'!! D=<")

Unfortunately, the kid's a brat.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We were on our way to Bowling at Renfrew one day. Samuel and I found out that we were big fans of Star Wars and had this ongoing discussion about characters and such. At one point Samuel said he'll be Anakin/Vader while I can be his son Luke. Eh, sadly several months later before the release of Episode III, Samuel showed a negative response when I told him that it's rated PG-13 ("I know that!" "I don't care if it's rated R") and muttered to Esdras about how they prefer Kevin Yee over me. Why he suddenly acted like this I do not know.

Now, in that bowling centre, the balls there are standard sized -as I would call it-, which means it's both heavy and large. The lightest balls known there are this light blue with a Venus-looking appearance with the number 6 (basically the weight of the balls are designated by their numbers). Once people -myself included and especially children- knew about that ball, they would start fighting over them, which is both stupid and juvenile.

As we headed back to church, I was really becoming good friends with Fong. Curiosity got the better of me (and I did find her rather attractive), so I asked her: "Are you married?" Fong was kind of speechless that I'd ask such a thing and joked that she's "not married" in a sarcastic deep tone. Then in a moment she revealed that her husband is Peter Leung.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I continued joining the activities as the weeks went on, and one day each one of us were asked to stand in front of a wall in Room G1. I don't remember if any reasons were stated but they took pictures of our faces.

Then in November we were given membership cards. I still have mine but... I both do and don't want to get it scanned to show you all how I looked back then.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So as time went on, Kevin Yee and Derrick were members. Same thing would happen after Sunday classes: Eat, socialize, prepare to do activity. We were friends with this 5th Grader named Marvin (who I nicknamed Marvin, the Tap-Dancing Horse because... there was a show called "Marvin the Tap-Dancing Horse" on Teletoon back then), who went to Tyee Elementary. One particular Sunday, we were waiting to go out. Derrick wore this one-strap backpack and was just standing around, until Marvin pulled the strap off. "Stripper!" blurted Derrick.

Since then we would have recurring jokes about Marvin stripping people. He would even sometimes pull caguole zippers to further increase the joke. I very distinctively remember him coming up to me going "Stripper! Stripper!" like he was going to do that action to me.

QUICKPAUSE
I immediately recognized the name "Tyee" when Marvin told me since my school's school band would go over there to perform. Pretty frequently. And sometimes Tyee students would come over to my school to perform.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was then December, near Winter Break. I was temporarily no longer in Explorer Club due to my mother not being able to pay the fee.

One day I had to miss a Saturday class due to personal reasons. I received a call from Sheran saying that my team (Flaming Falcons) won the... class competition gaining points thing and that we were to have a party the next day. Oh, okay, I'll come.

The next day, I went. Uh... where was everyone? Oh. They went skating (what party?). There were two more staff members (Loraine and personidon'tknow) who were going so I was to join them. We took buses to Broadway where there was a small skaking rink. We stepped in and I see Kevin Yee skating around, Derrick skating, certain-other-familiar-faces-but-I-don't-remember-which-now skating, and some new people I've never seen in my life skating (one big example was this Kenny-looking person who wears glasses).

I skated for a bit. Don't know what exactly happened other than talking and skating in circles and racing and playing tag in the rink.

So we were standing around goofing off and socializing before we officially left.

On the bus, the goofiness continued. I had an umbrella with me so I pretended to shoot people (especially that Kenny-like guy) by pointing it like a gun. Loraine noticed and called me out.

After we got off, we walked through an alley back to church (and quietly mentioning to Kevin how much the Kenny-like guy resembles Kenny himself, which he agreed). Loraine came up to me and scolded me -in Cantonese- on pointing the umbrella and how I could have injured people's eyes. I tried justifying my actions by saying that I was just playing and was trying to be careful -because I was!-. I also mentioned I was told to do the action again (which was true), which Loraine retorted: "If someone tells you to die then you will also go die?!"

. . .

Excuse me, you're talking to a kid. Please don't exaggerate over something that can be peacefully talked over instead of scolding loudly and making an unpleasant comparison.

*One point added to the fact: Some of the staff members at church are so questionable at times.

to be continued

Prepare yourself. The "season finale" is very long.

Chapter 7 )</div>
Ultraman Tiga
I was walking to Kensington Library on Friday, and this Mandarin-speaking woman called me... who sounded like a prostitute. She asked me a question, which I couldn't respond because my Mandarin is horrible and I had no idea what she was asking, so I just hung up on her.

And this entry was originally part of last chapter, but it became too long, which explains why I'm able to post it right after yesterday's. So you can say that I finished Chapter 6 first.
