"*blows horn* Hello, this is your Captain calling."

I received a spam call earlier this evening, saying that I won a trip to the Bahamas. xD

"000-000-0000 is actually a fake number used by MULTIPLE ILLEGAL COMPANIES through an internet phone service! Any crook who wishes to remain anonymous (criminals, scammers, spammers, dirty political campaigns, live-phone-number-hunters, etc.) but who don't want to get blocked by people rejecting anonymous calls simply sets their Caller-ID to 000-000-0000. The internet phone companies allow them to do this. DO NOT ANSWER THEIR CALLS, EVER! Anyone using this number is obviously an ILLEGAL BUSINESS who is trying to hide itself. THEY WILL NEVER TELL YOU WHO THEY REALLY ARE, and THEY WILL NOT REMOVE YOUR NAME from any of their lists! In most cases, picking up will CONFIRM TO THE CRIMINALS THAT YOU ARE HOME AND THAT THE LINE IS ANSWERED! That is why they hang up after you answer. They don't care about you, they just want to confirm that your number is active and being picked up. THEY ARE CALLING YOU A MILLION TIMES TO MAKE A DATABASE OF WHEN YOU ARE HOME TO PICK UP!! At that point your now-confirmed phone number, and your phone-answering schedule will be sold as prime real-estate to telemarketers, and you will NEVER rid yourself of them! BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I have learned something new.

Remember 000-000-0000? Judging by certain reports, their calls can be sometimes related to death. Pretty creepy, actually.

"They called me yesterday saying i was gonna die in 7 days then called again today telling me that i was gonna die in 6 days if they call for a 5th day their toast :) bunch of queers"

"this number called me and it said i was going to die in seven days and today is my last day supposedly so well wait and see what happens. It is probably some wierd dude." [XD "Seven days". THE RING, but without the tape]

"I was in a car with my two of my friends and my phone began to ring and it showed up all 0's. This was the first time i ever saw that so i decided to answer and when i did it some man wispered and said you are going to die, then i threw my phone. when i tried to call it back and it didnt work." [O_O Frightening]

"The voice was a mans voice in a creepy whisper that said "I will come to you in seven days."" [O_O]

"It was Death calling. Right after I answered the phone, I DIED.

WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T ANSWER THIS NUMBER! YOU WILL BE SORRY!" [O_O Okay. I'm already scared.]

"I have had this call for the first time 1-000-000-0000, I always heard this was a call from heaven? pretty scary I know, has anyone else ever heard this? I tried calling the number back, but there is no such number. How can we track who is calling from this number?"

"Just got this call... They left an automated message, but the beginning was cut off... I haven't listened again, but it was something about funeral home services or something, haha... There was a request to press a number from a list of options read off... But I don't remember the specifics..."

And this is not a scary one, but amusing actually:

Agressive telemarketer from Discover Network (as in the Discover card, he said) Merchant's Health Plan. REFUSED a dozen times to provide a phone number --said a number was on packet they could mail if they get my identity / delivery info. Refused to even give a CITY. This went on for a long time. So-called manager ALSO DENIED PHONE NUMBER KNOWLEDGE and REFUSED TO DISCLOSE CITY! Asked twenty times, eventually shouting and he kept dodging. Hope to get some of this onto YouTube someday. Hey Discover, is THIS how you recruit new business? I'll specifically AVOID DISCOVER thanks to this technique. Number is on National Do Not Call. Told the guys. They persist.
